Job Description:

The Intermediate Tax Analyst II will ensure that TD US Taxation is managed as efficiently and effectively as possible. This position will report to the Head of Tax Accounting and Compliance and will be responsible for all duties related to the preparation and filing of U.S. federal tax compliance and monthly financial reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operates as a working lead on finance initiatives as assigned.
• Ensures efficient and accurate Tax operational processes in place that meet all client needs and/or established guidelines as applicable.
• Provides business / financial analysis and/or general Tax / accounting or related operational support as assigned.
• Adheres to internal policies / procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines and contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.
• Moderate level of complexity in analysis / reporting or operational function requiring a short to medium term focus.
• Experienced level of the role with general business or specialized Tax, accounting or operational knowledge or related skills required.
• Assists in the development and implementation of new financial models, methodologies, frameworks and paradigms to support on-going business unit reporting and analysis functions.
• Contributes to the strategic direction of the Tax function by keeping current on emerging issues, industry trends and/or relevant accounting changes to support own unit or function.
• Identifies and investigates non-standard Tax accounting and/or operational / reporting issues.
• Conducts regular financial analysis / reporting to support business partner, functional Tax areas or centers of expertise.

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years related experience
• Proficient in interpersonal communication (both oral and written), and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management
• Must be knowledgeable of established benchmarks and/or best practices for own area
• Bachelor degree in Business/Accounting/Financial Management (accounting designation is preferred but not required)
• Must be detail oriented and possess problem-solving skills. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and establish priorities
• Requires working knowledge of the Tax function and the key business areas supported
