Job Description:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is looking for a highly motivated and versatile Data Scientist/Credit Risk Analyst who is responsible for supporting the operational and risk management aspects of the Discount Window and Collateral functions in the Credit, Risk and Reserves Management Department and for providing the department with support in analyzing and presenting data using statistical analysis and data visualization techniques and best practices. As the Data Scientist/Credit Risk Analyst you will prepare and present lending and collateral data, trend analyses, and credit risk analyses findings to department staff and management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform Discount Window activities and assist with daily operational tasks such as the opening and closing of the loan and collateral applications
  • Participate on department, district or system workgroups, projects, and initiatives
  • Assist with borrower-in-custody reviews for Discount Window and Payment System Risk collateral and receives and prepares collateral revaluation data for processing; assist with the operations, administration and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with Credit Risk Management and staff to automate various processes, create and maintain real time dashboards for key statistics, and seek to understand emerging risks of institutions within the 11th District that require the collection and analysis of data to support robust credit decision making
  • Provide recommendations on how to collect data, analyzes the data and presents recommendations to others
  • Assist in the specification and design of electronic data collection, reporting and processing tools and end user technologies, with a focus on providing or processing analytical, status reporting and decision support information
  • Additionally, serve as a data resource for the entire department and provides training to other staff members

Job Requirements:

  • Must be action-oriented and have demonstrated initiative in taking on and completing new assignments
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements
  • Strong critical thinking and problems solving skills and the ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a variety of business units within the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, mathematics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, statistics, or other business-related field of study
  • Academic or professional experience in statistical analyses and the use of common statistical software tools
