Job Description:
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Force Readiness Command, Fleet Training and Readiness Branch, Norfolk, VA. This position serves as the Senior Management and Program Analyst with the Fleet Training and Readiness Branch (FC-Aftr), Force Readiness Command (FORCECOM), responsible for developing and promulgating policies and procedures that promote collection, validity, and accuracy of data in several command wide databases that support the command’s mission.
Job Responsibilities:
- Using a variety of software applications, i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, and VERINT, to develop effective graphic presentations that best illustrate trends.
- Conducting audits on a monthly basis in order to maintain an accurate database.
- Developing databases used to schedule training personnel and to collect and analyze workforce and performance data force wide.
- Collecting and analyzing data to develop policies and procedures that govern measurement of performance analytics.
- Utilizing Coast Guard web applications and SharePoint database reporting software to provide strategic briefing products to FORCECOM senior leadership.
- Conducting mathematical interpretations, statistical analysis, or other specialized techniques to determine and evaluate current data in order to make recommendations regarding conclusions.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge in determining relevant source material, establishing procedures, obtaining pertinent data, performing management engineering analyses, and drawing accurate conclusions leading to effective recommendations.
- Knowledge of pertinent laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the modernized Coast Guard and related resources in the area being studied, in order to ensure that findings and recommendations comply with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of Coast Guard operational missions, goals, objectives, and functional work processes.
- Knowledge of the rules governing database management, file design, computer operation, and related procedures for applications being developed, accessed, or modified.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
