Job Description:

The Senior Claims Adjuster role, which is part of the Risk Management & Insurance group of the Treasurer’s Department, is responsible for providing claims management services to the Corporation and its affiliates in the U.S. Services include managing third-party liability and high value subrogation claims. This role also requires the candidate to respond to emergency response events, primarily in the U.S, on a 24/7/365 basis.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support underwriting and operational activities related to the Corporation’s wholly-owned captive insurance companies
• Negotiate and administer contracts with third-party service providers
• Assist business units with the resolution of insurance claims and recoveries
• Actively support and participate in the company’s safety, health, and environmental management systems
• Ensure company’s compliance with local laws, regulations and contractual obligations
• Steward key performance indicators and metrics for assigned operations
• Assist in projects for Risk Management & Insurance
• Periodically assist with internal assessments to assure compliance with controls
• Experience in contractual interpretation and basic principles of contractual risk distribution
• Respond to emergency response events primarily in the U. S.
• Manage a caseload of third-party liability and high value subrogation claims
• Assure compliance with delegation of authority, controls, and operations integrity management standards and requirements

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Proven ability to manage short deadlines and respond to emergency situations
• Excellent administrative and organizational competencies, with careful attention to detail
• 10 – 15 years’ experience adjusting third-party liability and high value subrogation claims
• Working knowledge of property and casualty insurance and other common insurance policy forms and principles
• Adherence to the highest ethical standards
• CPCU, Chartered Insurance Institute, or similar professional designation
• Proven leadership experience
• Willing to travel flexible and adaptable to various working conditions
