Job Description:

As Landscape Manager you will be responsible for a portfolio of properties within the Estate Region ranging from designed landscapes to ruined castles, hill forts and medieval villages. Working across this diverse estate you will be our lead on caring for our estate grounds.

Job Responsibilities:

As the Landscape Manager you will be providing a complete and comprehensive cyclical and response grounds maintenance service to English Heritage and Local Management Agreement sites. You will ensure works are carried out to the standards required and that security, health and safety is maintained at all times. You will work with Senior Landscape Advisors to prepare landscape management plans for the historic sites in your care so they are presented for the enjoyment of visitors. You will be working collaboratively with the Historic Properties Team who operates the sites to ensure the aims of the charity can be met effectively supporting Estates Department deliver to its core objectives of conserving and caring for the historic properties.

Job Requirements:

• Your experience in the management and maintenance of general landscape projects relating to countryside sites and properties will be invaluable. You will be able to demonstrate recent knowledge of the preparation of schedules and specification of works, tender and procurement of projects and writing Landscape Management Plans.
• As a natural problem solver you will seek to use your initiative to overcome practical issues that come up as part of working in a busy team. With the ability to follow processes and procedures you will be able to also manage the unexpected when it arises.
• You will hold a Degree in Landscape Management, Conservation Management or similar.
