Job Description:

As a Relationship Manager Trainee, you’ll provide technical expertise for proactive credit analysis, structuring, pricing, and overall transactions assessment with the guidance and collaboration with other Senior Relationship Managers within the assigned portfolio / jurisdiction. You will be trained to provide advisory support to the team to provide insights on the accuracy and consistency of decisions relative to risk strategies, policies, and appetite. You’ll identify deficiencies and recommend corrective action plans. Also you’ll make credit and pricing decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles in compliance with Bank policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Understands the local market and proactively develops relationships with centres of influence.
  • Resolves or escalates issues.
  • Responds to information requests and follows established protocols.
  • Identifies prospective Business Banking customers, and/or refers customers with Personal
  • Banking and/or more complex needs to other Partners.
  • Answers inquiries and provides accurate information about business banking products and services.
  • Develops internal and external networks and referral sources to ensure ongoing growth of BMO’s business.
  • Develops and maintains long-term, profitable relationships and expands organization’s wallet share within the assigned portfolio.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong experience with business consultative customer sales and service.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills – In-depth.
  • Credit qualifications and training or equivalent.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
  • Highly driven, resourceful and self motivated.
  • Typically between 4 – 6 years of relevant experiences in more complex credit analysis and lending consultation for businesses and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Engaging verbal & written communication skills – In-depth.
  • Strong knowledge of business banking products, lending processes and loan documentation, and supporting policies, procedures, and technologies.
  • Collaboration & team skills – In-depth.
