Job Description:
As a Barclays PR Manager you will be part of a team supporting the commercial objectives of both the Barclaycard Payments and Barclaycard UK Cards businesses, working and partnering closely with senior stakeholders and communications colleagues from across the organisation. You will be playing a frontline role in promoting and protecting the Barclaycard brand and its narrative, devising creative content and campaigns for PR, social and digital channels.

Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting on analysis of proprietary Barclaycard consumer spending data and consumer research, turning figures and trends into a cohesive monthly narrative
- Leading campaigns, thought leadership and projects across the Barclaycard business on areas including Barclaycard Entertainment and Barclaycard Payments
- Managing external agency partners and maintaining accountability for delivery
- Providing exceptional stakeholder support that builds trust in the working relationship, confidence in our expertise, and a positive reputation for the wider communications team
- Identifying proactive ‘newsjacking’ opportunities to generate coverage
- Working as a proactive member of the integrated Corporate Communications team, involved in the development and execution of media relations activities
- Securing and managing media interviews, providing excellent counsel and guidance to spokespeople
- Providing media counsel to senior business stakeholders and client business management teams
Job Requirements:
- Good external awareness of market/industry/regulatory issues
- Solid B2B and B2C journalist relationships across national and vertical media, with exceptional communication skills – written and oral
- Ability to operate effectively independently and within a team. Powerful personal impact and presentation
- Solid project management, organisation and co-ordination skills (campaign planning and crisis management). Ability to solve problems using sound judgment and analysis
- Ability to solve problems often with tight deadlines; remaining cool-headed while keeping a sense of perspective
- Extensive working experience of all media, especially consumer, business and personal finance and how to exploit it across mainstream media, regional, trade, TV and radio
- Consumer technology, personal finance and/or payments media relations experience desirable
- Extensive media relations experience gained either in-house or in an agency
