Job Description:

As a Barclays Solution Architect, you will be responsible for all changes to the application / system throughout the whole product lifecycle, including retirement of systems. This is an exciting opportunity for you to work with senior stakeholders from Business, Technology, Security and Risk and to showcase your experience of working within a project framework such as Waterfall, Agile & Scrum.

Job Responsibilities:

• Working with end-to-end Architects and Application and Component leads to shape the solution into its optimal form
• Documenting High Level & Detailed Designs to the required level to enable Build, Test,
• Project Managers and ourselves to deliver the project
• Documenting the solution in a two-page Design Thumbnail (impact assessment)
• Establishing and delivering solutions for projects to meet the business needs
• Sizing the project at the Design Thumbnail Review Board with input from PM, Build and Test communities
• Sharing new knowledge with a project team after solving a problem
• Identifying priorities and adjusting time allocation when priorities change; completing tasks within estimated time / deadline
• Supporting Build / Test / Security / Business / PM query resolution throughout the project lifecycle

Job Requirements:

• Experience of working within a project framework such as Waterfall, Agile & Scrum
• Awareness of the Barclays business unit responsibilities and structure
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, with ability to multitask and prioritise workload
• Understanding of mobile technologies, the strengths and weaknesses platforms such as iOS & Android
• Understanding of API definition languages such as JSON, RAML or REST
• Understanding of Client Server Interaction, Application and Infrastructure architecture
• Excellent problem solving skills and proven ability at documenting application architecture solutions
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work concisely when under pressure
